One of the most important aspects of Homeless not Hopeless is our outreach efforts. Bill Bishop, Director of Outreach Services, spends many hours a week out on the streets, in the woods, and at recovery meetings
identifying individuals who are in need of immediate help. He gets them to emergency rooms, into emergency beds, gives them clean and dry clothing, buys them coffee and food. With the many years that Bill spent out
there himself, he, not only knows many of the men and women out in the woods, he understands the issues and problems they face.
Bill works collaboratively with Tom Naples, Outreach for the Cape Cod Council of Churches, and Gene Carey, Outreach for Community Action Committee of the Cape and Islands. Between the three of them, more lives have
been saved during the harshest weather, than ever before.
