Honoring the Legacy of Richard LeJava

The Homeless Not Hopeless family mourns the loss of longtime Board Member Richard “Dick” LeJava, whose dedication, leadership, and compassion helped shape our organization and advance our mission for many years.

Dick was more than a board member. He was a trusted advisor, steadfast supporter, and passionate advocate for those experiencing homelessness and hardship. Through his thoughtful counsel and unwavering commitment, he played an important role in guiding Homeless Not Hopeless during periods of growth and transformation. His wisdom, integrity, and belief in our mission helped strengthen the foundation upon which our organization continues to build.

Dick understood that every individual deserves dignity, opportunity, and hope. His values aligned deeply with the mission of Homeless Not Hopeless, and his actions consistently reflected a genuine concern for the well-being of others. Whether offering strategic guidance, supporting new initiatives, or encouraging those around him, Dick’s presence made a lasting difference.

The impact of his service extends far beyond the boardroom. The lives changed through the programs and services of Homeless Not Hopeless are part of the legacy he helped create. His commitment to serving others, strengthening our community, and supporting those seeking a better future will continue to inspire us for years to come.

We are profoundly grateful for Dick’s years of service, friendship, and leadership. As we honor his memory, we recommit ourselves to the mission he believed in so deeply: helping individuals move from homelessness to hope through safe housing, support, and opportunity.

Richard LeJava’s legacy lives on in every life touched by Homeless Not Hopeless. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
