Dear Friends,
With deep sorrow, the Homeless Not Hopeless Board of Directors announces the passing of our esteemed fellow board member, Rick Presbrey.
Rick dedicated his life to addressing homelessness and housing insecurity, leaving behind an enduring legacy of compassion and advocacy. As the founder of Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) in 1974, he spent more than four decades building vital programs that provided housing solutions for individuals and families in need. His leadership transformed HAC into a cornerstone of Cape Cod’s fight against homelessness, offering resources and support to thousands seeking stability.
Beyond HAC, Rick’s commitment extended to Homeless Not Hopeless (HnH), where his invaluable expertise guided our mission and strengthened our programs. His strategic vision helped shape initiatives that provided not only shelter but also pathways to independence for individuals experiencing homelessness. His advocacy influenced community-driven efforts across Cape Cod that ensured unhoused residents received meaningful local support.
Rick’s wisdom, leadership, and unwavering dedication to those in need will be deeply missed. As we move forward, we honor his legacy by continuing the work he so passionately believed in—ensuring safe, stable housing for all.
